Jeffery Chandy has been a martial arts exponent for almost half a century. When he was five years old he spotted a young man practising karate in a park in his home city of Chennai, in India.
"I started watching him every day and he took me under his wing. After five years of practising together, he put me onto his master.''
Forms of martial arts have been practised in India for centuries but Jeffery says karate was not a well-known sport in the 1950s.
He got his black belt at 13 and began to teach the discipline.
Now the gym would like to take Jeffery on as a self-defence teacher and will sponsor his attempts on a number of world records.
"It's not that I'm an extraordinary person. It's just dedication and practice and hard work.
"In martial arts, there is no end to learning and I'm ready to learn at any time.''

Jeffrey Chandy cops a hammer blow from his son Denver. Breaking six slabs of concrete is all in a day's work for the martial arts expert who channels his 'chi' into his crazy stunts. Six slabs of concrete, One sledgehammer.
Jeffery attempts to break the Guinness World Record for the most Toilet seats on your head as part o the TV 2 show New Zealanders Smashing Guinness World Records.
