Brian Smith Event a Huge Success

CLM Community Sport recently held a fantastic coaching event, hosting Brian Smith at MIT Manukau.
Brian Smith a former NRL player and coach of 675 professional rugby league games and current general manager at the Vodafone warriors was joined by 60 community leaders, coaches and volunteers from a range of sports codes and organistaions from across Auckland. Brian shared a multitude of lessons and advice from his 40 yeas of coaching within professional sport.
One of the first key points he emphasised was how coaching a range of different sports helped him develop his coaching fundamentals. Brian followed this up by explaining his beliefs about just how significant one coach is for an individual’s physical and mental health, and also an entire communities . Brian was passionate on his views that all sports contribute to a nations, health, reduced crime and productivity, and his desire for Governments to invest appropriately in sport to foster these benefits.
The Brian Smith event, finished off the 2018 series of Community Coaching events. These including Dr Ralph Pim in February and Sir Graeme Henry in May.
CLM Community Sport looks forward to bring the wider community together for the 2019 series of coaching events from world leading coaches, parents and athletes.
