The problem was that I was putting on weight and I was getting out of shape and spending too much time in my comfy chair! Someone close to me suggested more exercise to stem the spread, but it wasn't until my doctor joined in the chorus that I began to listen. He suggested joing the gym. My first response was that I couldn't afford that, but I found out that Otahuhu CLM gym prices are very reasonable. Coming was the next hardest part but even then I got a nice surprise. Everyone of the staff were so friendly and welcoming. So began my gym journey....
That was a year ago and it has been great. I go about 3x a week and have lost just under 10kg. I now feel much better and look better. The other day someone came in leaning on a walker. She was overweight and probably felt rather conspicuous. But do you know what I thought? "Good on you girl for coming and keep coming-becuase if you persevere, you too will enjoy the benefits this gym offers to people.
By the way, I will be 71 next birthday.

Mohammed has now lost 46Kg

Mohammed's abridged testimonal of his health journey is attached below
All my teenage life I have been big, round and chubby and I never dared to do anything about it but I took a good look at myself in the mirror one night and I was totally silenced I stepped on a scale and I was 120kgs! I started telling myself “no that can’t be me”.
I heard a quote on a TV program: “The world isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very nasty place and will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently, if you let It”. I had to stop lying to myself and accept that "YES I AM BIG AND I NEED HELP"!
At the beginning I would give in to cravings to eat junk but as time went on I kept disciplining myself and moving forward; I would drag myself out of bed and get back in the gym. On the 1st of November 2012 the guy who was once 120kgs was now 74kgs. Good luck to you all, may God bless you, and remember never give up on your goals! Mohammed Khan.
