Is the pool open to the public?

Yes - It sure is! Come and visit us - you can just pay for a casual entry (prices here), a 10 visit concession card, and if you love it as much as our members, why not join and enjoy unlimited use of all of the facilities!

Do you have a gym?

Can I leave my children at the pool?

Lifeguards do a great job of keeping our pools safe, but they are not babysitters. The Pool Alone policy was developed in 1997 (revised in 2002) to provide national consistency within the aquatics industry. The policy provides a recommended code of practice for child supervision and states:
"Children under 8 must be actively supervised by a caregiver 16 or over.
Actively supervised means watching your child at all times, and able to provide immediate assistance" Riverside pool actively enforces this rule.

Are the pools heated?

Yes; the lane pool is heated to 28-29 degrees, the teaching and toddlers pools are about 32-33 degrees and the spa pool is 38 degrees.

What is the best time to swim lanes?

Lanes are usually available most of the time throughout the day (except between 4-5pm weekdays during term time, where we run kids swimming lessons and there may be no spare lanes). We guarantee at least 3 lanes for lane swimming at the following times:

Weekdays:

6-9.30am

12-1.30pm

5-7pm

Weekends:

9am-12pm

However, during school term time some of the quietest times for swimming can be outside of the lane swimming times, e.g. 11am-12pm, 1.30-3.30pm. These times can be subject to bookings in a few of the lanes, however these bookings dont happen very often. Call us on (03) 546 3221 to find out if there are any bookings when you plan to visit. If there are no bookings you will generally enjoy the peace and tranquility of a lovely quiet pool!

There is also a designated play area in the lane pool for kids after school at 3.30-5pm during term time, and there are balls, basketball hoops, floaties etc to play with.

There is a warm toddlers pool for the very little people!

I can't afford swimming lessons, what can I do?

Swimming is one of the most important skills your children can learn, and is the only skill which may one day save their life. We understand that sometimes paying for lessons can be difficult. We have easy pay options available where you can spread the cost of lessons over 12 weeks and pay from just $10.83 per week, per child. (10% discount if 3 or more children are booked in). Check out the payment options page for more information.
