FAQ

How do I enquire about a booking?

Simply call us on our call free number 0508 RECREATION (732 732) and press 1. Our staff are only too happy to talk you through the process.

What happens if I don’t know which facility I should be enquiring about?

No problem, call 0508 RECREATION (732 732), let our staff know a bit about your activity and preferred date, and we will check our system to see which facility will best meet your needs.

Can I visit the centre to see what it looks like?

Most of our facilities are staffed so a visit to the centre during normal opening hours is fine. Some of our facilities are not staffed so access will need to be arranged by calling us on 0508 RECREATION (732 732).

What is the cost to hire space at a facility?

If you click on the facility that you think best meets your needs and click on the pricing charges, you will be able to download a price list. Please note the pricing definitions listed.

When and how am I supposed to pay for hire?

Casual and one-off users are required to pay for their booking in advance. Your booking will remain tentative until it has been paid. Payment can be made by direct credit or cash and eftpos at any of our staffed facilities. To make payment by direct credit, call us on number 0508 RECREATION (732 732) and press 1 for our bank account details.

If I’m booking a facility that’s not staffed, how do I gain access?

At the time you make your booking, payment and access arrangements need to be organised. We will require you to either pick up a key from one of our main centres or we can meet you on site, please let us know your preference.

Whose responsibility is it to clean up after our booking?

Users are required to leave the area they have hired in a satisfactory condition. In staffed facilities, user groups and centre staff work together to get the centre back into the condition it was at the start of your bookings. At facilities that are unstaffed, it is the user groups responsiblity to return the centre to the condition it was at the start of the booking. Cleaning equipment and products are available on site for your use. If the centres are not left in a satisfactory condition, users will be liable for any extra costs incurred to rectify.

Are we allowed to consume or sell alcohol in the facilities?

On the proviso you have applied and have been granted a Special Liquor License from Tauranga City Council and have meet all the special conditions of the license, you can. The cost of the license is $63 and additional charges ie security guards, will apply.

Are we allowed to fundraise during our booking?

A Food License needs to be obtained directly from Tauranga City Council to do this. You will also need to ensure you have approval from centre management to do this and you have booked and secured space accordingly. The cost of the license is $10.

If I make a booking and don’t turn up, what happens?

In most cases you will still be charged. Please note the cancellation terms and conditions listed on the back of the Facility Hire & Agreement form.

If I have an issue with the facility who should I talk to?

In the first instance, contact the centre that you made the booking at. Alternatively you can contact the Tauranga Facilities Manager directly on 07 574 6009 ext 6004 or email taurangaleisure@clmnz.co.nz. We will respond to your email within 48 hours (excluding weekends).
