Community Leisure Management celebrates a week of success

On Thursday, 28 November, topped off a brilliant week for our CLM whanau, with a number of successes at the 2019 Recreation Awards.
Earlier in the week, Mark, Leah and the Trafalgar Centre team were awarded the accolade of 2019 Pixel Medium Venue of the Year at the EVANZ (Entertainment Venues Association of New Zealand). Leah was also recognised for her work as a finalist in the Rising Star of the Year Award. We are all exceptionally proud of the whole team who work tirelessly to deliver quality events for the Nelson community.
The success continued last night at the Recreation Aotearoa annual awards were Lido Aquatic centre took out the Outstanding Pool Award. Judges were impressed with the diverse range of community programming and outreach and the continual innovation that is on display through all facets of the facility. The Outstanding Community Recreation Programme category was hotly contested and the AROORA team took away a Merit award for their unique approach to community wellness.
Continuing a great night, Kirsty was awarded the Paul Stuart Memorial Award, recognising her outstanding commitment and contribution to facilities within our industry. Fay Freeman who works actively with our CLM Community Sport team supporting and developing clubs in the Counties Manukau region was made a Recreation Fellow recognising her significant contributions to the recreation sector over the last 50 years.
