Why should I become a CLM Health and Fitness member at Whangarei Aquatic Centre?

When you are comparing fitness centres, there are a number of features our memberships provide that are not available elsewhere.

All our memberships provide access to our pools and sauna. Full Facility members can also get pool training and aqua classes included in the mix when your Fitness Centre trainer is developing your fitness programme.

Full Facility and Group Fitness memberships give you free access to group fitness classes like AquaFit and Hydro Tonic.

There is no Joining Fee to sign up with our Fitness Centre. (However, note that there is a $25 administration charge if you elect to pay by direct debit).

All our members can receive a 10% discount on any shop goods that aren't already marked down - just ask at reception and show them your swipe card.

What happens to my membership if I am sick, or travelling away from Whangarei?

If you are unable to use your membership for a while, because of illness or travel, we may be able to help.

For cash memberships, we can extend your membership expiry date if you produce a medical certificate or itinerary for overseas travel.

For direct debit memberships, we may be able to suspend or reduce your weekly payments. If you are ill, or recovering from injury, we can suspend payments for up to a month at a time. If you are travelling overseas, we can reduce your weekly payments to $5 for up to 3 months.

What do I need to do to cancel my direct debit membership?

When you signed up for direct debit, you entered into a contract with Debit Success, the company that manages our Easy Pay memberships. You can call Debit Success on 0800 481 0400 to discuss your options.

If you have completed the minimum contract term (1 month, 6 months or 12 months, depending on your contract) then simply let us know and call Debit Success to give them 10 days notice to cancel your direct debit payments.

If you still have time to run on your contract, you will need to pay 25% of whatever balance remains owing on the cash value of your contract term or $150 (whichever is less). For example, the cash value of a 12 month Full Facility Membership is $832 - weekly payments are $16.00. If you wish to cancel after 6 months, you will have paid $416 (26 wks x $16), with a balance of $416. You would have to pay $104.00 (25% of the balance).

Alternatively, you can transfer your membership to someone else who will contract to meet the payments for the balance of the contract term. They will need to complete a contract form and pay $25 for the changeover.

My account is overdue! How can I catch up?

Payments can be made at our reception desk or you can arrange catch-up payments directly with Debit Success  – just call 0800 481 0400.

What is 'Green Prescription'?

A Green Prescription (GRx) is written advice issued by a nominated health professional, such as a General Practitioner (GP) or a Practice Nurse, recommending a person (18yrs+) becomes more physically active to benefit their health. (In Whangarei, the programme is administered by Sport Northland). We provide several options.

Sport Northland can issue a Discovery Pass, which provides GRx patients an opportunity to see what Whangarei Aquatic Centre has to offer. It includes a free consultation with a trainer, a free session in the fitness centre, a free group fitness class and 1 day free access to the pools.

We offer our memberships at the concession rate to our Green Prescription customers. 

If you only want to swim, Sport Northland can issue a card that will provide casual pool admission for $4.00. You must produce the card at reception each visit to receive the discounted rate.
