Dave McKenzie - Facility Manager

Qualifications: National Diploma in Facility Management, Water treatment 5692 & 5693, Pool Lifeguarding Practicing Certificate, PHEC certificate, Skills Active Registered Roving Assessor, Chemical handlers certificate, Swim Instructor

Dave has been involved with pools for over 20 years, beginning as a pool lifeguard and swim instructor. He is actively involved with surf lifesaving and search & rescue as well as enjoying various watersports. Dave has worked at all pools in the Nelson area as well as in Saudi Arabia in a consultancy role. Dave is passionate about aquatics and is currently a Poolsafe assessor for NZRA as well as a roving assessor for Skills Active with one of the largest assessor scopes in the industry. Over the past 3 years, Dave has been contracted to Marlborough District Council to train lifeguard staff and develop swimming pool operations for swimming pools in Picton and Seddon. During this time Dave has performed audits and developed policies, procedures and manuals with a goal for these facilities to become PoolSafe accredited pools. He has a desire for training others and leadership. Dave has an expansive great knowledge in aquatics, facility management and is considered an expert in reducing electricity usage throughout CLM managed facilities. Dave’s calm manner and extensive knowledge of the Riverside and Nayland facilities allow him to quickly solve problems in pressured situations.



Jaimee Erskine - Customer Service Co-ordinator






John Maclean - Fitness Centre Co-ordinator

Qualifications - ICS Diploma in Fitness and Nutrition, ICS Diploma in Sports Psychology, Advanced Diploma in Myoskeletal Alignment, Certified Advanced Myofascial Techniques in neck, spine, pelvis, foot and arm, Practicing Certificate in Kinesiology, Certificate in Muscle Balance Analysis, First Aid Certificate.

John has 20 years experience in the fitness industry and is extremely passionate about helping people of all ages achieve their goals. John is a competitive swimmer and prior to training in fitness, John was a lifeguard. John has experience in one-to-one training with clients as well as group fitness in addition to his extensive experience in the supervision and training of staff in exercise prescription, postural and muscle balance analysis and injury rehabilitation. John manages the fitness centre where his duties and responsibilities include staff training, exercise prescription, group fitness instruction and equipment maintenance.



Holly Barrow – Chill Out Coordinator

Holly has worked in the Chillout Childcare Programme since October in the Childcare Attendant and Coordinator role. Holly is a very driven individual who thrives on progression and would like to see Chill Out really excel. Holly believes the quality of care and activities are important with friendly hands on staff and very happy children. Holly is solely responsible for planning Afterschool activities as well as creating Holiday Programmes, co-ordinating and motivating staff encouraging training and progression, and networking with parents to create a positive environment for their children.



Lisa Bergman - Swim School Co-ordinator

Qualifications - Aquatics in Action, Swimming Education level 3, First Aid Certificate, Austswim Teacher of Swimming and Water safety, Austswim Teacher of infant and preschool aquatics.

Lisa joined the team at Riverside as co-ordinator for our SwimMagic Swim School in January 2013, having been a swim instructor at the Richmond Aquatic Centre for 6 years prior. Lisa was awarded CLM Swimming Instructor of the Year in 2011 with her passion in teaching children to swim. Lisa has experience in teaching all abilities and age groups and believes learning to swim is a very important life skill. In 2015 Riverside won the CLM SwimMagic swim school of the year Award. Lisa manages a team of instructors as well as running the Swim school on a day to day basis. Her passion for teaching has reflected on the swim school over the past 4 years and all its achievements. In this role some of Lisa’s responsibilities include delivering the learn to swim programme, staff training, marketing, programming, teaching, communication and staff organisation.
