A Variety of Options for Our Community

Last week, our CLM Community Sport team was lucky to hear from Audrey Williams, the Programme Engagement Manager for Variety in New Zealand.

The presentation was an opportunity for our staff to hear and understand more about the mahi Variety does throughout our rohe and the extended Auckland region.

For more than 30 years, Variety has been helping tamariki and rangatahi to thrive in Aotearoa. Over time, how they have delivered this support has evolved to meet the changing needs of children and whānau.

Audrey provided a highly in-depth, clear overview of the work being done with tamariki and their families – and was received well by our entire team.

Variety offers tailored and flexible support to New Zealand children and whānau living in poverty. They focus on improving the health, education and wellbeing of children and young people experiencing financial hardship, sickness and disability.

For Audrey Williams, it’s also about finding relevant ways to make this support available;

“I know many of our families, especially Maori and Pasifika may find it hard to ask for help… and we understand that, but we want to do what we can to support our young ones and remove barriers so they can get the opportunities they deserve”
