Counties Manukau Rangatahi Leadership Council Launched!
Counties Manukau Rangatahi Leadership Council Launched!
The first Rangatahi Leadership Council in the Counties Manukau region has been launched! The Council will empower local emerging young leaders from secondary schools and kura.
The idea was first proposed by CLM Community Sport Regional Sports Directors Junior Manapori and Judith Coe, when secondary schools throughout our rohe provided feedback and shared a real desire to empower Rangatahi to advocate for their classmates and wider community.
The purpose of the Council is to:
- Develop Future Leaders: Equip rangatahi with the skills and knowledge to become confident and effective leaders.
- Empower Young Voices: Support rangatahi to reach their full potential and advocate for their needs.
- Promote Physical Activity: Encourage student-led initiatives that promote sports and recreation.
- Advocate for Funding: Advocate for funding to support physical activity in schools and kura.
By empowering our young leaders and amplifying their voices, the Rangatahi Leadership Council is shaping a brighter future for the youth of Counties Manukau.
