Counties Manukau take over Wellington at the National School Sport Conference!

School Sport and Sport New Zealand held their biannual conference in Wellington this week with a massive showing by our Counties Manukau Secondary Schools.

The conference is a professional development opportunity for all those working in the secondary school sport sector, and provided a chance to share knowledge and understanding of quality sport opportunities for secondary school students, particularly those that are less active.

We are incredibly proud of our Regional Sports Directors Junior and Judith who have worked tirelessly to form and maintain meaningful relationships with our Counties Manukau Secondary Schools.

We also want to acknowledge the amazing School staff who attended (as well as their Schools for releasing them to attend).

Counties Manukau was represented by the following: Onewhero Area School, Tuakau College, Waiuku College, Pukekohe High School, ACG Strathallan, Papakura High School, Rosehill College, Alfriston College, James Cook High School, Wesley College, Papatoetoe High School, De La Salle College, Aorere College, Tangaroa College, Sir Edmund Hillary Collegiate, Māngere College & Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Mangere.

A special shout out to our South Auckland based Active As Activators Isaac (James Cook High School) and Paige (Sir Edmund Hillary Collegiate) who shared what they do well in their respective Schools as part of the Active As initiative.

The future of Secondary School Sport and Active Recreation out South looks promising given the passionate people that work in this space. We’re excited and proud to support this mahi and our community.
