George Makapatama appointed chair of Community Leisure Charitable Trust

Congratulations to George Makapatama, who was recently appointed Chairperson at the recent Community Leisure Charitable Trust (CLCT) Hui replacing John Latimer, who will continue to serve as a valued Trustee. George brings extensive experience across both local and central government and currently works as a Consultant for FakaFekauaga Catalyst (FFC) and serves as Co-Chair of the Pacific Advisory Group for Oranga Tamariki. Having been a member of the CLCT Board for the past six years, George is passionate about the Trust's purpose and people.

"It is an honour to serve alongside people who are committed to empowering communities through play, active recreation and sport," said George.

A special thanks to John Latimer for his outstanding leadership and governance skills over the many years he has Chaired CLCT and overseed many exciting opportunities. John has had a long and successful career in the governance space having also been a Sport Waikato Trust member, President of Recreation Aotearoa and continues as a longtime Chair of Community Leisure Management.
