Tipene Waka Ama Unveils New Equipment Thanks to Tū Manawa Funding
Tipene's Waka Ama team is proud to announce the arrival of new paddling equipment, made possible through Tū Manawa funding, supporting the continued growth and success of their rangatahi.
Thanks to this funding, the school has invested in a new hoe (paddles) from Tai Paddles, along with new lifejackets, ensuring paddlers have access to high-quality, safe, and fit-for-purpose equipment as they head into the season.
The new gear was officially unveiled over the weekend at the Te Toki Regatta on Waitangi Day.
The results at the regatta highlighted the commitment the team has been putting in, training twice a week at Nga Kaihoe o te Puaha waka ama club in Tuakau and was a great chance connect with other clubs before the team heads to Secondary School Nationals in March.
