Traffic Changes Near Franklin Pool & Leisure Centre

Watercare wastewater upgrade works | August to November 2026

Watercare will be undertaking essential wastewater upgrade works on Franklin Road from Monday 24 August 2026 through to November 2026. These works will take place directly outside Franklin Pool & Leisure Centre and may impact travel to and from the facility.

What to Expect

• Franklin Road will operate as one-way traffic only past the facility.
• Northbound traffic between Franklin Pool & Leisure Centre and Reynolds Road will be closed.
• Southbound access from Cape Hill Road towards Stadium Drive will remain open.
• Traffic management and diversion routes will be in place.
• On-street parking will be limited.
• Temporary speed restrictions may apply in the area.

Visiting the Facility

Franklin Pool & Leisure Centre will remain open and operating as normal throughout the works.
To help make your visit as smooth as possible, we recommend:

• Allowing extra travel time.
• Following all traffic management signage and detours.
• Arriving a little earlier for swim lessons, group fitness classes, sports games, and other bookings.
