Why exercise in water?
Exercise in water can improve physical fitness and promote a healthier lifestyle for a variety of different populations. The buoyancy of the water supports your body weight and decreases stress on your weight-bearing joints. This makes water-based activities a potentially safer and more comfortable form of training for specialist groups, such as the overweight, pregnant, senior, physically less able and people rehabilitating after an injury.
What makes aqua fitness different?
- Low or no impact - get the same workout without putting stress on your joints
- Full-body conditioning with the cushioning effect of the water
- The resistance of the water enhances toning and shaping of your muscles
- Water reduces excess body heat to create a cool, comfortable work-out environment
- Quick post-class recovery
