Aquatics and SwimMagic Coordinators Unite for Learning, Leadership and Collaboration

August saw CLM's Aquatics and SwimMagic Coordinators come together for two national conferences focused on professional development, collaboration, and continuous improvement across our aquatic facilities and swim schools.

The month began with the 2026 Aquatics Coordinators Conference at Lynfield Recreation Centre and Ōtāhuhu Pool and Leisure Centre, where coordinators explored topics including water quality management, lifeguard development, utilities, pool testing systems, and operational troubleshooting. Sessions delivered by internal and external experts provided practical knowledge that can be applied across CLM facilities nationwide.

A week later, SwimMagic Coordinators and Regional Managers gathered in Nelson for the 2026 SwimMagic Coordinator Conference. Under the theme Leading Great Swim Schools, attendees visited Richmond Aquatic Centre and Riverside Pool, sharing ideas and exploring ways to enhance lesson quality, customer experience, instructor development, and consistency across the SwimMagic network.

While each conference had a different focus, both highlighted the value of bringing teams together to learn from one another, share best practice, and strengthen relationships across the country. Participants exchanged ideas, discussed challenges, and explored opportunities to improve both aquatic operations and learn-to-swim delivery.
