Active Youth

CLM has partnered up with Aktive, Auckland Council and CLM Community Sport to deliver a free 12 week Wellness Programme designed for youth across the Auckland area.

The aim of the programme is to encourage youth (aged between 14 -18) to increase their activity levels, and to educate them about the importance of physical activity and a healthy lifestyle. Seven facilities across Auckland will take on 12 youth for a 12 week programme designed to achieve a number of outcomes such as increased fitness levels and increased hours of physical activity.

Aroora

Drawing from traditional mātauranga Māori practice and principles, Aroora is a holistic well-being philosophy that is applicable to people of all backgrounds.

Tikanga are guiding principles which foster and nurture rangatiratanga and manaakitanga, key elements of Aroora. Aroora has seven tikanga or guiding principles.

  • Whakapapa/Connection
  • Pono/Perception
  • Aroha/Love
  • Mana/Energy
  • Tika/Rightness or correctness
  • Āio/Harmony
  • Ānāianei te wā/Presence.
