CLM Lifeguards make Waves at 2022 Aquatic Awards
CLM celebrated a night of success at the 2022 Recreation Aotearoa WAVES Conference held In Palmerston North.
The CLM National Lifeguard team, made up of Geneva Ruri, Joshua Brookland (Whangarei Aquatic Centre), Julia Rennie (Pt Erin Pool) and Kanae Atsumi (Parnell Baths), won the Recreation Aotearoa Lifeguard Team of the Year, continuing CLM’s proud legacy in the event having won it FIVE times in a row.
Jo Whittaker took out the Lifeguard of the Year award for his tireless work across both the Wairarapa and Manawatu regions. Starting his career in 2012 serving 160 hours of community service. Jo quickly made a lasting impression and was offered a full time role due to his strong work ethic and personable customer service. Jo is popular with his customers, management, and his fellow team members, and this well-deserved award is a testament to his positive and friendly outlook on Life.
CLM CEO, Craig Carter, was delighted with the success, saying; “Lifeguards are the backbone of the aquatics industry, and I’m extremely proud of our team for continuing CLM’s proud history in the event. The whole of CLM is rapt for Jo. The recognition he has received as Lifeguard of the Year is a reflection of the hours of work he has done putting smiles on people’s faces while keeping them safe across our network of facilities.”
Wrapping up a successful evening, CLM Director and GM of Operations, Kirsty Knowles, received reaccreditation of her ARPro status, a certification highlighting her Accredited Recreation Professional status.
As a group, CLM is extremely proud to continue developing quality individuals and teams that are passionate and proud to serve their communities.
