Vaughan is proud of the achievements his team has attained over the years including NZRA Outstanding Pool of the Year 2016. Vaughan holds a Bachelor of Exercise Science, have been on tertiary review panels for Sport Science, and previously part of the PT Council of NZ.
Vaughan’s day to day activities draw on experience both in the hospitality and fitness industry coupled with his drive” to set the standard in fitness, recreation and lifestyle centres” Vaughan surrounds himself with great people who share the same drive to make a difference in our community!
Marketing & Administration Coordinator
Crystal is the face behind our creative approach to the leisure industry; her passion can be seen in our events, marketing and social media content. Crystal’s creativity can been seen in making our connection to the community via social media & communication.
Crystal is extremely driven and you will often see her working in number of areas around the facility to ensure we are delivering the high standards we hold ourselves to. In addition to overseeing the facilities Administration and Marketing Crystal also oversees our Customer Service team ensuring the warm and inviting service each time you visit.
Fitness Centre Team Leader
Byron oversees the day-to-day operation of our state of the art fitness centre here at Richmond Aquatic Centre.
He is a graduate of Auckland Universities (AUT) Bachelors of Sport and Recreation, and is currently training to become a skills active industry assessor for the upper south-island for a number of fitness/sports based qualifications. His proudest achievement is CLM Richmond recently winning the CLM Fitness Centre of the Year 2019 award at our national awards night. Byron is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu enthusiast, with a kickboxing/boxing background from his teenage years. In his spare time he enjoys being outdoors, a spot of gardening and spending time with his son.
Rachel is our water treatment specialist, and previous winner of the NZRA Lifeguard of the Year in 2011. Rachel Graduated Otago University with a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Physical Education to which she applies these skills in the development of our Aquatics team. When she is not working to ensure the highest standard of water quality you will find Rachel up in the hills mountain biking, on the ocean paddling Wakaama or outside chasing trails. Rachel is a firm believer in the positive benefits of connecting our communities though an active lifestyle, whether this be on the land or in the water.
Programmes and Aquatics Team Leader
Malcolm ensures a fun, creative and safe environment for the children in our programmes including the Chillout after School Care and Holiday Program. Malcolm has set thee standard locally with programming that has changed the way holiday programs are operated. Malcolm also oversees our Parks Programs and Wave Rave events which have a great following in the community. Malcolm has a Diploma in Child Protection and is a qualified Lifeguard to ensure that we deliver a quality experience in which parents can trust.
SwimMagic Team Leader
Lisa is the driving force behind our water safety and learn to swim programmes here with SwimMagic. Lisa’s qualifications include National Certificate in Business (First Line Management) Level 4 and Austswim qualifacations in Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety, Infant and Preschool Aquatics, Aquatics Access and inclusion and Competitive Strokes.
Lisa is passionate about all aspects of swimming but has the highest priority on ensuring a ZERO drowning tolerance in our region. Lisa is connected to the community in the programmes she deliverers and you will often see her in and round the pools making sure we deliver the highest possible standards in swimming. Lisa loves that we can teach our community to swim and be safe in and around the water “its never to late to learn”
