Investing in Our Future Leaders - Finlay's LEAD by CLM Journey
At Richmond Aquatic Centre, we believe that investing in our people is one of the best ways to strengthen our facility and the community we serve. By supporting the professional growth of our team, we create opportunities for individuals to build rewarding careers while developing the next generation of leaders.
We're proud to celebrate Senior Lifeguard Finlay, who is currently participating in the LEAD by CLM Programme. This development programme is designed to equip emerging leaders with the practical skills and confidence needed to take the next step in their careers and make a positive impact within their teams and communities.
Finlay says, “The lead programme has been a great way to get to meet new people and learn how I can improve myself in the workplace.”
The LEAD by CLM Programme provides participants with real-world learning opportunities that extend beyond their day to day roles, helping them develop a well-rounded understanding of what it takes to lead successful teams and facilities.
"During the Lead Programme, we include scenarios that take participants out of their comfort zones to observe how they respond. Finlay performed really well and embraced these situations. We also use the programme to create networking opportunities, enabling participants to support each other in the future." – Lynden Noakes CLM Aquatics Manager.
Richmond Aquatic Centre Facility Manager Vaughan said he is proud to see Finlay's continued development within the organisation:
"It's great to see Finlay's continued growth, especially considering he started working with us while he was still at high school. Over the years, he has consistently demonstrated a willingness to learn, take on new challenges, and develop his skills. Participating in the LEAD by CLM Programme is another giant step in his career pathway, and I have no doubt he has a very bright future ahead of him. We're proud to support his journey and invest in the next generation of leaders."
At Richmond Aquatic Centre, we're committed to creating pathways for growth and development. By investing in programmes like LEAD by CLM, we're not only supporting the aspirations of our staff but also ensuring our community continues to benefit from passionate, skilled, and capable leaders.
We are incredibly proud of Finlay for embracing this opportunity and look forward to seeing the skills and knowledge gained through the programme contribute to both his personal development and the ongoing success of Richmond Aquatic Centre.
CLM CEO Craig Carter highlighted “by investing in programmes like LEAD, we're investing in our future leaders like Finlay and ensuring the Richmond Aquatic Centre continues to grow a strong, capable team dedicated to delivering outstanding experiences for our community”.
Congratulations, Finlay, and thank you for your commitment to learning, leading, and making a difference in our community.
